I live in a small town called Nijkerk in the middle of the country. I’m in my second year of secondary school. I go to school from Mondays to Fridays. Would you like to come to school with me today? You’ll have to get up early, because lessons start at 8.45.

School day

All Dutch children between the ages of 5 and 16 have to go to school. In the last year of primary school, when they’re 12 years old, they have to take a special test. The teacher looks at the results of this test to see which type of secondary school they should go to.
