Jisp

I live in a village called Jisp in the northwest of the Netherlands, not far from the sea. We live on a farm. My father grows fruit and vegetables. He has his own business. My mother also works in the family business.

In the area where I live, you can see lots of fields of grain and corn, as well as bulb fields. When the bulbs flower in the spring and summer it’s really beautiful here.

I often go to school by bicycle. Sometimes the wind is against me and I have to pedal really hard. But when the wind is in my back I hardly need to pedal at all.

Farms

Every region in the Netherlands has its own type of farm. In old farmhouses, the walls above the fireplace and in the kitchen are often decorated with pretty tiles.
